The project

Free Salon Education is where FSE began. In 2012 Matt Beck started sharing what he had learned in salons and at hair shows for free on YouTube, and the channel has grown to more than a million subscribers.

The goal

Give that audience a home of its own: one place where stylists can learn, keep up with the industry and buy the tools they use behind the chair, without depending on a single social platform.

What we built

A website that combines education, editorial content and commerce.

Education first

Step-by-step technique breakdowns, a free 7-day haircutting masterclass and a membership academy with live classes.

Content that keeps stylists coming back

Regular hair trends and salon business articles alongside the tutorials.

Tools and merch in the same place

An online store for professional scissors and FSE apparel, so learning and shopping happen on one site.
